One of the biggest religious holidays in the province of Paphos and all over Cyprus, it solemnly confirmed its importance and popularity this year as well. The feast of Agios Neophytos, which started on Friday and ends today, created a real chaos yesterday, mainly in the late afternoon and evening, with thousands of people visiting the Monastery to worship and then the kiosks and other points of sale of traditional products, clothing and more.
It is noteworthy that the main road leading from Tremithousa to the Monastery was covered in all the adjacent areas from the afternoon, within a radius of many meters before the Monastery. At the same time, the road leading to the center of Tala presented a literally rare image, with cars parked, in the absence of other spaces available at a distance of kilometers from the monastery.
The religious part of the feast, as well as the festival, ends today. At 5.30 in the morning, the Matins and then the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy were chanted, presided over by the Metropolitan of Kition Nektarios, co-officiated by the Abbot of the Monastery of Agios Neophytos and the fathers of the Monastery.
The Paphos Traffic Police is still taking measures today for the safe movement of visitors and residents in the area of the Monastery, but also for the parking of the vehicles that will be trafficked in the area today.
