The large increase in passenger traffic at Paphos Airport lately, combined with the lack of staff, creates problems and delays, mainly in the collection of passengers' luggage. The interventions that have been made recently by agents of the Paphos district have forced the ground handling companies to look for personnel abroad.
After the interventions and complaints of the officials of the province and the management company of the airports to the ground handling companies, it seems that measures are being taken to improve the situation.
Paphos Deputy Mayor Angelos Onisiforou revealed that the ground handling company that is contracted with 80% of the companies operating at Paphos Airport will transport ten people from Germany in order to cope with the increased workload of this period.
It is noted that works are in progress at Paphos Airport, as well as at Larnaca Airport. At Paphos Airport, projects will be implemented that will increase the capacity of the airport terminal by approximately 30%, significantly improving the passenger experience and the efficiency of controls and procedures.
