The Municipality of Ierokipia calls on all its citizens to immediately take care of the issuance of an occupation permit for their dog(s). The dog/dog license is made upon payment of the "Dog License Fee" of €20.50 per dog and after the following documents are presented, at the offices of the Health Service of the Municipality of Ierokipia:
1. A certificate or booklet of the dog's health, issued by a registered veterinarian.
2. Certificate of marking of the dog with a microchip.
3. Certificate of registration from the State Veterinary Services.
4. Previous Dog Ownership License
In case of failure to issue a license for the possession of a dog, the Municipality of Ierokipia will proceed to take legal action against the owners, without any other notification.
OFFENCES AND PENALTIES
Based on the Dog Law, any person
(a) Owns a dog without a permit or a dog that is not registered and marked;
(b) owns a dog in violation of the provisions of this Law,
(c) takes any action with intent to deceive or which may deceive the Competent Authority or the Director in the registration or control of dogs in accordance with this Law;
(d) abandons his dog or fails to take appropriate measures to prevent his escape or escape;
(e) permits or tolerates the use of a dog of which he owns or has under his care;
(i) causes noise with loud and continuous barking causing nuisance to the public;
(ii) pollutes or contaminates any part with faeces without collecting it;
(iii) roams freely on a public road or in any public place without being tied on a leash or on a part belonging to another person without his consent;
(f) violates the provisions of this Law in any way;
he is guilty of an offence and, if convicted, is liable to imprisonment or a fine, or both.
