Larnaca-Famagusta Motorway
On the slopes of all motorways in Larnaca District, as well as the “Kalo Chorio” and “Rizoelia” roundabouts, during the period 01/09/2025 – 31/10/2025, excluding weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30-14:30, works will be carried out by the Department of Forestry, pruning and watering plants. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected. On the section of the motorway between Xylotympos and Ayia Napa, during the period 08/09/2025–31/10/2025, between the hours of 09:00 in the morning and 05:30 the following morning, weekdays except Fridays, weekends and holidays, emergency door installation works will be carried out on the central island. During the works, a section of the motorway lane adjacent to the central island, from the Xylotympos area to the Ayia Napa roundabout, will be closed, successively for a length of 100 meters each time, simultaneously from both directions, at nine different points.
Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway On the slopes of all the Larnaca District motorways, as well as the “Kalo Chorio” and “Rizoelia” roundabouts, during the period 01/09/2025 – 31/10/2025, excluding weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30-14:30, the Department of Forestry will carry out works, pruning and watering plants. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected. Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway On the section of the motorway from the junction with Athalassa Avenue in Nicosia, up to the junction with the Nicosia-Limassol Motorway in both directions, from Monday 08/09/2025 until Thursday 30/10/2025, except Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 21:00 at night until 06:00 in the morning of the next day, horizontal marking works will be carried out periodically. The works will be carried out in sections with one lane closed at a time. Nicosia District In Nicosia, on Digeni Akrita Avenue, between its intersections with Nikodimou Mylona Street and Kallipoleos Avenue, from 30/06/2025 to 24/11/2025, repair, maintenance and reinforcement works of the existing culvert will be carried out. During the works, a section of one lane of Digeni Akrita Avenue in the direction of Pallouriotissa/Kaimakli will be closed sequentially for approximately 50m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In addition, both lanes of traffic in this direction will be closed during the days when concreting works are carried out and traffic will be diverted via alternative routes. Separate announcements will be issued for these cases to better inform the public. On Digeni Akrita Avenue in Nicosia, from Monday 1 September 2025 until 06:00 on Friday 17 October 2025, repair, maintenance and reinforcement works of the existing culvert will be carried out. During the works, the lanes of Digeni Akrita Avenue from Nicosia to Palouriotissa between its intersections with Nikodimou Mylona and Olympia Streets will be closed to traffic. The right-hand direction towards Nikodimou Mylona Street will remain open. Drivers from Nicosia to Palouriotissa are urged to use Kritis, Kypranoros, Androkleous streets and then Stasandrou/Pindarou streets and Stasinou avenue for their journeys. Drivers from Nicosia to Kallipoleos are urged to use Nikodimou Mylona street for their journeys. their movements. To return to Digeni Akrita, drivers are urged to use Nikodimou Mylona, Damaskinou and Olympia streets. Traffic from Palouriotissa to Makariou Avenue will not be affected by the works. In Lakatamia and Strovolos, within the framework of the works being carried out on Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos, Tseriou, and Strovolos avenues, from Wednesday 07/05/2025 and for a period of approximately 5 months, the intersection of Georgiou Anagnostopoulou Street with Tseriou Avenue will be closed. During this period, traffic to and from Tseriou Avenue will be conducted via Georgiou Iona Street, where a photo-controlled intersection will operate to regulate traffic. In Lakatamia and Strovolos, also in the context of the works being carried out on Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos, and Tseriou avenues, from Tuesday 27/05/2025 and for a period of approximately 6 months, the light-controlled intersection of Tseriou avenue with Theofilou Georgiadis street is being abolished and part of Theofilou Georgiadis street will be temporarily closed to traffic, up to its intersection with Ergatikattas street. All movements from Theofilou Georgiadis street to and from Tseriou avenue will be made via the temporary light-controlled intersection with Vasilissis Amalias street. In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, which are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets. As part of the “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia” Project, the following traffic regulations will be in place from 24/04/2025 to 12/12/2025: Kalavryton Street at its junction with Famagusta will be closed. Drivers are asked to use Faliro Street to get to Sopaz roundabout. Drivers are asked to use Terpsichoris Street to get to Larnaca Avenue. Pafos Street will also be closed to traffic. Drivers using this road to get to the area are asked to use Gogou Paraskevaidi Street, which is parallel to Pafos Street and was specifically constructed for this purpose. Residents of the Pafos Street area who wish to travel towards Larnaca Avenue are requested to use Kantaras Street, while those who wish to travel towards the Sopaz roundabout are requested to use Gogou Paraskevaidi Street for this purpose. Limassol District On the Platres-Prodromos road (E804), in sections of the road between Agios Dimitrios and Paleomylos, during the period 07/07/2025 – 30/09/2025, between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00, retaining wall erection works will be carried out. During the course of the works, one lane of traffic of approximately 100m in length will be closed at any time and traffic will be managed alternately with the “STOP & GO” system with appropriate signage. On the Malia-Mandria and Prastiou-Avdimou roads, during the period 30/06/2025–30/09/2025, between the hours of 07:00-15:00, construction work will be carried out on retaining walls on sections of the roads. During the course of the work, one lane of traffic of approximately 100m in length will be closed at any time and traffic will be managed alternately with the “STOP & GO” system with appropriate signage. On the Parekklisia-Eptagonia road, on Sunday 21/09/2025, from 07:00 to 16:00, asphalt pavement maintenance work will be carried out. Larnaca District In the area of the Choirokitia Community, on the old Nicosia-Limassol road, during the period 01/09/2025–26/09/2025, between the hours of 08:00 – 16:00, maintenance work on bridge safety barriers will be carried out. During the work, one lane of traffic will be closed alternately for a length of approximately 20m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using traffic light signals. On the old Larnaca-Kofinou road, near the Community of Klavdia, during the period 09/09/2025–26/09/2025, between the hours of 08:00–16:00, daily, except weekends, maintenance work on bridge safety barriers will be carried out. During the work, one lane of traffic will be closed alternately for a length of approximately 20m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with the use of temporary traffic lights.Also on the old Larnaca-Kofinou road Arnakas-Kofinou, between the communities of Menogia and Kofinou, during the period 18/09/2025–03/10/2025, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:00 – 16:00, maintenance work on the bridge safety barriers will be carried out. During the work, one lane of traffic will be closed alternately for a length of approximately 20m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with the use of temporary traffic lights.
On the Larnaca-Dhekelia coastal road, as part of the construction works of the Project "Improvement of the Larnaca-Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C", traffic, from the height of the LEBAY Hotel to the Radisson Beach Hotel, from April 24, 2025 and for six months, will be diverted via Galaxia Street in Oroklini, while part of it, near the BORONIA Hotel, will be closed. In addition, the road connecting Oroklini with the Larnaca-Dhekelia coastal road, at the height of the Oroklini Fire Station and the HENIPA Hotel, from April 24, 2025 and for two months, will be closed to traffic in both directions. Traffic will be diverted via Bella-Pais, Olympos and Athinon Streets in Oroklini. Drivers are urged to be careful. Paphos District On the Paphos - Limassol road (B6), from Friday 19/09/2025 to Monday 22/09/2025, except Sunday, construction works for inclinometer boreholes will be carried out, near Petra tou Romiou. During the execution of the works, one lane will be closed and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, which will operate with two-way traffic using a temporary mobile traffic light system.
