The fire in the area of "Paoura" in Kelokedara, Paphos district, has been brought under control.
To extinguish the fire, five fire trucks from the Paphos District Fire Stations attempted, with the support of three fire trucks and a hiking section of the Forestry Department and a portable firefighting unit of the Game and Fauna Service.
The fire burned about two hectares of dry grass and wild vegetation in an inaccessible area.
The ground fire brigade supported five firefighting vehicles with water drops.
The ground fire brigade will remain at the fire site for final extinguishing and dealing with any flare-ups.
The causes of the fire are being investigated.
