There is an increase in the phenomenon of sending mass messages to citizens, through which they are informed that they supposedly have a package at the Cyprus Post Office and are asked to certify the order of the postal parcel.
In the fraudulent messages, citizens are asked to enter, via an electronic link, provided in the messages, their credit/debit card details, supposedly for the payment of a small amount of money to release the postal package.
The Police recommends special attention to the public, since this particular message is fraudulent and aims to extort money. The public is urged not to respond to the messages and not to activate the electronic link shown in them, as there is a risk of being charged and citizens' bank card details being intercepted.
