With the main examination of the witness - investigator of the TAE Limassol, who analyzed the content of the data found on the telephone devices of the four accused for the murder of Thanasis Kalogeropoulos, the hearing before the Permanent Criminal Court of Limassol continued today (26/9).
This is voluminous witness material, which had been submitted as evidence, while today the witness was examined by the representative of the Legal Service. During the examination, videos, audio documents, photos and messages exchanged between the defendants were shown, among other things. From what was put before the Court, the involvement of the second defendant – the owner of the mansion in Skarinou – with the other defendants can be seen.
The Court was presented, among other things, with videos sent by the first defendant to the second, while he was in the mansion, as well as audio documents. From the data recovered from the devices, it appears that there were frequent and numerous communications between the defendants, mainly through specific applications, and even deleted calls were found in an attempt not to detect traces.
From the analysis of the data, in particular from the device of the second defendant, it was found that there were repeated communications through different telephone numbers, both before and after the murder was committed. Photos and videos depicting the first defendant were also presented.
The revelation of a conversation between the second defendant and a third person, in which it seems that a meeting had been arranged on October 13 in Limassol with the victim, Thanasis Kalogeropoulos, is also considered important.
Finally, the testimony of the investigator caused an impression, according to which the second defendant had carried out online searches on how DNA can disappear from the human body and various other searches.
The cross-examination of the witness by the defense attorneys of the accused is expected to take place in early October, when new hearings have been set, as the case will be tried by the older composition of the Limassol Criminal Court.
