The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for extreme maximum temperature, which will be in force from 12:00 noon to 17:00 on Friday, August 22, 2025.
According to the announcement, the temperature in the interior is expected to rise to around 41 degrees Celsius, while in the higher mountains it will reach about 32 degrees.

Seasonal low pressure affects the area.
Today, the weather will be mainly clear, although locally increased low clouds will be observed. The winds in the morning hours will blow variable, weak, 3 Beaufort, to soon become mainly southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and on the coast temporarily moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be generally calm to a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 41 degrees inland, around 35 degrees in the southeast, south and north coasts and around 32 degrees on the west and southwest coasts as well as in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will remain mainly clear with locally increased low clouds. Later and during the morning hours, it is expected locally to form sparse fog or fog, especially in areas in the south and east. The winds will continue to blow mainly southwest to northwest and later locally variable, weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little turbulent. The temperature will drop to around 23 degrees inland, around 24 degrees on the coast and 21 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Saturday, Sunday and Monday, the weather will be mainly clear, while locally increased cloudiness will be observed. During the evening and morning hours, sparse fog or fog may form, particularly in areas in the south, east and interior.
The temperature on Saturday is not expected to change significantly, remaining above seasonal values, however, from Sunday it will gradually fall, to be close to the average climatic values of the season on Monday.
