The Department of Road Transport (TOM) has started sending informative SMS messages to owners of registered vehicles, with the aim of enhancing prevention and road safety, inviting them to regularly check if a recall concerning their vehicle is pending.
The message sent reads: "Regularly check your vehicle for recalls. Information: www.mcw.gov.cy/rtd – Department of Road Transport"
The Department points out that vehicle recalls – often for safety reasons or technical problems – must be dealt with immediately by the owners, in order to ensure the safety of both passengers and other road users.
Citizens can be informed through the special platform of TOM on www.mcw.gov.cy/rtd website, by entering their vehicle registration number or other relevant information.
This message is intended to enhance vigilance and prevention on the part of owners. All citizens are invited to regularly check if a recall is pending that concerns their vehicle and to implement it, in order to ensure the safety of the vehicle and passengers.
