The Department of Road Transport (TOM) warns of dangerous components in vehicles and motorcycles, calling on consumers and stakeholders to take the necessary measures.
As stated in an announcement by the Ministry of Transport, based on information from the Consumer Protection Service, in the 31st week of 2025, through the European Early Warning System for Dangerous Non-Food Products (Safety Gate), the following dangerous products were notified:
Constant velocity joint- SR/02835/25 – Hyundai Tucson (passenger)
- SR/02839/25 – Honda (motorcycle)
- SR/02844/25 – Audi A5, A6, A6 e-tron, Q6 e-tron (passenger)
- SR/02845/25 – Seat ARONA, IBIZA (passengers)

The Department of Road Transport invites manufacturers, dealers, distributors, importers and sellers who may or may have made such parts available in the Cypriot market, to immediately inform the Department and proceed with their recall, as provided for by law.
In addition, consumers are invited to contact the manufacturer, dealer or distributor in case they have relevant components, to stop using them immediately and, if possible, to return them, if possible, to the point of purchase, informing the seller.
It is clarified that in case of refusal of response by professionals, the consumer has the right to submit a written complaint to the Consumer Protection Service through the www.consumer.gov.cy website.
