The presence of the motorcyclists of the Isaac-Solomos Memorial Initiative in the events dedicated to the memory of the two young men who were murdered by Turkish forces in the bloody events of Deryneia in 1996 is thunderous once again.
The memorial march with the participation of about 700 motorcyclists began yesterday from the barricades of Astromeritis, Agios Dometios, Ledra Palace and Ledra Street.
Today, motorcyclists found themselves on the road to the occupation barricade of Deryneia and the inauguration of the monument in Paralimni, which took place tonight in an atmosphere of intense emotion.
"With a collective consciousness and a strong identity, thousands of years old. On the path of virtue and dignity, to reach our destination. On the path of continuity, self-denial, courage, according to the example of the two brave men, who lifted an entire people on their shoulders. In Kyrenia, Famagusta, Karpasia, Morphou. The monument that was inaugurated last night in Paralimni on the initiative of the Municipality of Paralimni-Deryneia, are two statues for Tasos Isaac and Solomos Solomos, which were created by the sculptor Philippos Giapanis and placed in an area near the old Paralimni stadium.
