Due to the high demand for water during this period and due to the particularly high temperatures that prevail, the Water Development Department (TAY) urges the public to save water and avoid its unnecessary use in every way.
In a statement, the TAY states that "the efficient use of water will contribute significantly to the preservation of the scarce water reserves in our dams, in which the inflow is minimal due to the prolonged drought".
It is reminded that according to the Water Saving (Special Measures) Law (Law 1/1991), the consumption of water using a hose for washing streets, sidewalks, verandas, railings or motor vehicles is strictly prohibited.
It is noted that the TAY continues to implement the Action Plan for tackling water scarcity by implementing all the measures approved by the Council of Ministers.
"However, saving and rational use by citizens remain key factors in ensuring the adequacy and sustainable protection of water for current and future generations," he concludes.
