The Association of Cyprus Banks and its member banks express their deep regret for the human losses, the destruction of the natural environment and the properties lost in the great fire in Limassol.
As part of the broader effort to support those affected by the fire, the banks are proceeding to take the following measures for the immediate relief of households and businesses affected by the devastating fire.
1. Right to suspend payment of instalments for a period of up to six months for loans to households and businesses that were directly affected and fall under the state support measures. The measure will be applied to serviced loans. Beneficiaries are invited to declare their interest by contacting the banking institution they are working with.
2. Provision of loans on preferential terms for the immediate coverage of the urgent needs of the fire victims.
3. Provision of loans on preferential terms to individuals and with special facilities to businesses for the restoration of the damages they have suffered.
4. Suspension of foreclosures for six months for individuals and businesses that were directly affected and fall under the state support measures.
