SCAM - POLICE WARN RE TEXT MESSAGES ALLEGEDLY FROM A SUPERMARKET
The Cybercrime Sub-Directorate of the Headquarters informs citizens that, in recent days, it has received a number of complaints regarding misleading text messages (SMS), which falsely appear to come from a supermarket. Specifically, the recipient of the message is invited to follow a specific electronic link in order to redeem points that are supposedly about to expire. The purpose of the scams is to deceive the public and, in particular, to extract bank details and sums of money. The public is invited to be particularly careful and not to respond in case of receiving such a message.
