Ryanair has announced a deal with Booking Holdings, allowing Booking.com and KAYAK platforms to resell airline tickets after a long-running legal battle.
The Irish airline has repeatedly taken legal action in recent years against online agencies that resold tickets without its consent, accusing them of adding extra charges and making it difficult for them to communicate directly with passengers. He had filed similar lawsuits against Booking.
Since the beginning of 2024, Ryanair has signed agreements with other major platforms, such as Kiwi.com and Expedia, allowing the resale of tickets under certain conditions.
In a joint statement, Ryanair and Booking stressed that the new agreement will ensure "full price transparency" and allow customers to receive the necessary updates on their flights directly.
It has not been clarified whether the deal means a definitive settlement of the U.S. court case pending since 2020, when Ryanair accused Booking of copying its website. The case has gone through a series of appeals and remains open.
The agreement also covers the Priceline and Agoda platforms, which are owned by Booking Holdings.
