Although due to summer visitors, traffic in Paphos is now particularly increased everywhere and on a daily basis, two points in the northern part of the urban road network are a headache for the competent Police, Ministry of Transport and the Municipality of Paphos.
These are the roundabouts of Konia and Paphos Hospital, where the situation is characterized as very dangerous for traffic traffic, since the flow of vehicles is done in a way that makes visible the possibility of road collisions on a permanent basis, while the traffic congestion, especially in this one of Konia, is unprecedented for the Pafia data.
The situation was expected to be aggravated in the center of Paphos with the combination of the ongoing redevelopment works, albeit with less intensity and extent, and the increase in tourist flow. However, the situation on most days causes embarrassment to the competent authorities and a nerve test for motorists.
Police crews were all days from early in the morning at these key points of the road network trying to ease the situation, however, the delays and queues recorded are unusual for the data of Paphos.
Serious malfunctions are often recorded in other parts of the city's road network and suburban areas, such as the Silo road, from Mesogi to the Paphos Hospital, Tassos Papadopoulos Avenue from Biofos to EAC, as well as all the main roads leading to the shopping center, such as Ellados, Evagoras Pallikaridis, Griva Digeni Avenues.
