The Council of Ministers today approved the call for tenders for the implementation of the first phase of the Polis Chrysochous-Paphos motorway, as stated by the Minister of Transport, Alexis Vafeadis, after the end of the session.
"We come out with offers immediately. I expect the documents to be posted by Monday, because it is a large volume of documents, and we are proceeding with the implementation and start of construction work as soon as possible. This confirms our will to proceed with the implementation of this project, as previously announced," he noted.
"We expect that the Polis-Paphos motorway will improve road safety and will certainly improve connectivity, and will give the opportunity to all residents of the area, both in the wider area of Polis Chrysochous, and in the Paphos District, to further develop their activities and thus upgrade their quality of life," he pointed out.
Asked about the timetables, the Minister said that at the moment the timetables provided for in the legislation on public procurement are being followed, adding that more will be referred to e-procurement as they will be determined.
