Particularly warm weather is expected on Saturday, August 9, 2025, with the mercury reaching around 42 degrees in the interior, 34 degrees on the southwest and west coasts, 37 degrees on the rest of the coast and 32 degrees in the mountains.
The heat will continue on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, without a noticeable change in temperature, which will remain noticeably higher than the average climatic values.
At the same time, the Department of Forestry announced that the risk of explosion and spread of forest fires will be at the level of "Red Alert". It is recalled that causing a fire is an offence that carries severe penalties, while a warm appeal is made to the public to avoid activities that may cause a fire. In case of detection of smoke or fire, citizens are asked to contact 1407 (Department of Forests) or 112 (Fire Service) immediately.
