The Municipality of Limassol is asking for offers for the commercial exploitation of public spaces in Molos for a year, essentially selling "air" both in terms of transport and literal.
Specifically, the Limassol Municipality will grant licenses for the use of public space to Molos for the provision of food and beverage sales services for one year, with the right for up to one more year. The permits concern 13 points on the coastal front. The minimum amount of bids that interested parties will have to submit starts from 1,500 euros and reaches 4,000 euros per year, depending on the point.
According to the tender documents, the foods allowed to be sold by the interested parties are wheat, popcorn/candied cotton, fresh juice, ice cream and granita. The sale of food will take place at specific points in the park which are indicated. Virtually each point is a different offer and only a specific food or drink will be allowed to be sold and not all of the above.
The offers and amounts are divided as follows:
Point 1
It is located on the coastal pedestrian street in the Park of the Backfill about 15 meters east of the pier of the Old Port. Offer for sale of wheat. The minimum bid amount for this point is €1,500 per year.
Point 2
It is located on the coastal pedestrian street in the Park of the Embankment, about 100 meters east of the dock of the Old Port. Offer for sale of fresh juice. The minimum bid amount for this point is €4,000 per year.
Point 3
It is located on the coastal pedestrian street in the Park of the Embankment, about 200 meters east of the pier of the Old Port. Offer for sale of popcorn/candied cotton. The minimum bid amount for this point is €3,000 per year.
Point 4
It is located on the coastal pedestrian street in the Park of the Embankment, about 300 meters east of the dock of the Old Port (near the yellow café). Offer for sale of wheat. The minimum bid amount for this point is €1,500 per year.
Point 5
It is located on the coastal pedestrian street in the Park of the Embankment, about 400 meters east of the dock of the Old Port. Offer for sale of granita. The minimum bid amount for this point is €4,000 per year.
Point 6
It is located on the coastal pedestrian street in the Park of the Embankment, about 500 meters east of the pier of the Old Port. Offer for sale popcorn/candied cotton. The minimum bid amount for this point is €3,000 per year.
Point 7
It is located on the coastal pedestrian street in the Park of the Embankment, about 600 meters east of the dock of the Old Port. Offer for sale of wheat. The minimum bid amount for this point is €1,500 per year.
Point 8
It is located on the coastal pedestrian street in the Park of the Embankment, about 700 meters east of the dock of the Old Port. Offer for sale of wheat. The minimum bid amount for this point is €1,500 per year.
Point 9
It is located on the coastal pedestrian street in the Park of the Embankment, about 850 meters east of the pier of the Old Port (near the theater). Offer for sale of fresh juice. The minimum bid amount for this point is €4,000 per year.
Point 10
It is located on the coastal pedestrian street in the Park of the Backfill 950 meters east of the dock of the Old Port. Offer for sale of wheat. The minimum bid amount for this point is €1,500 per year.
Point 11
It is located in the first parking lot east of the Old Port dock. Offer for the sale of ice cream. The minimum bid amount for this point is €3,000 per year, plus €432 for the use of the car park for one year.
Point 12
Located in the second parking lot east of the Old Port dock (near the Red Cafe). Offer for the sale of ice cream. The minimum bid amount for this point is €3,000 per year, plus €432 for the use of the car park for one year.
Point 13
Located in the third parking lot east of the Old Port dock (near the Blue Cafe). Offer for the sale of ice cream. The minimum bid amount for this point is €3,000 per year, plus €432 for the use of the car park for one year.
They will wear a uniform and a hat
The Municipality of Limassol in the tender documents also describes the general terms for the sale of food. According to the terms, everyone should have a uniform trolley that will move outside the Pier after working hours. They will be prohibited from placing tables and chairs and will not have for sale any product other than the one they have obtained the license and described at each point of the offer.
Also, food handlers will have to wear a uniform and hat, as determined by the Health Service.
It should be noted that the deadline for the submission of tenders expires on 22/09/2025 at 12 noon.
