The works that will be executed from September 1 on the road network were announced by the Department of Public Works.
Specifically, on Monday, 1 September and Tuesday, 2 September from 20:00 to 05:30 in the morning of the next day, road surface removal and repaving works will be carried out on the Nicosia-Denia motorway in both directions of the road, from the height of the Denia exit to the Akaki roundabout and for this purpose the traffic from Nicosia to Astromeriti will be channeled through the Kokkinotrimithia interchange to Grigoris Afxentiou Avenue and then through Kokkinotrimithia to Astromeriti.
Also, traffic from Astromeriti to Nicosia will be diverted through the Akaki roundabout to Grigori Afxentiou Avenue and then through Kokkinotrimithia to the Kokkinotrimithia interchange. Also, the entrance/exit of the motorway at the Mamari interchange will be closed.
Furthermore, the Department announced that from Monday, September 1, 2025, until Friday, September 5, 2025, from 08:30 to 16:30, grass removal works will be carried out on the central islet of the Nicosia Bypass Motorway, along its entire length and the adjacent traffic lane of the central islet, for a length of 3 km, will be partially closed. Approximately every time, and traffic will be channelled into the left lane.
He also announced that from Monday, September 1, 2025, until Thursday, September 4, 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:30 in the morning of the next day, periodic maintenance works of the road surface will be carried out on the section of the Nicosia-Limassol motorway (A1), from Skarinou to Choirokoitia, in the direction of Limassol and the two lanes of the motorway in the direction of Limassol will be partially closed, in a length of 3 km. and the traffic will be channelled in the opposite direction, which will operate with two-way traffic. Also, the entrance/exit of the motorway at the Skarinos to Limassol interchange will be closed.
The Department of Public Works invites the public to demonstrate the necessary understanding, patience and compliance with the temporary road signs and the instructions of the Police.
