Preventive drops began with the first light of day today two aircraft inside the area of yesterday's large fire in the triangle of the communities of Tsada-Koili-Tala in the Paphos district.
Although the night passed without any major flare-ups or other problems, firefighting planes based at Paphos Air Base took off at the first light of day and made drops in the area to ensure that there would be no resurgence from any active front smouldering during the night.
After the complete extinguishing of the fire, the work of the investigation into the causes that caused it is expected to be intensified today.
Officials from the Fire Brigade, the Police and other services involved will begin investigations in order to ascertain the causes of the fire.
However, local factors expressed certainty that it is the work of arsonists, given that the wider area does not show human activities and is not a visitable area for the issue of human negligence or other technical malfunction to arise.
