A 41-year-old driver was allegedly charged with serious traffic violations after being involved in a road collision in the early hours of Sunday morning on a village road in the Paphos district. According to the Police, the incident occurred at around 1:00 a.m., when the 41-year-old, under circumstances that are being investigated, lost control of his vehicle, resulting in it overturning in a nearby field.
The driver was slightly injured and was taken by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital, where he was given first aid and discharged. During the investigation of the incident, the 41-year-old underwent a preliminary alcohol and drug test, with both testing positive. In the final alcohol test, the reading reached 124μg%, far exceeding the permitted limit. Further investigations revealed that the driver did not hold a driver's license and the vehicle lacked a safety certificate. The 41-year-old was charged in writing for the relevant offenses and will be summoned before Court. The case is being investigated by the Kouklia Police Station.* * * * * *

A man with injuries all over his body is hospitalized in serious condition at the Nicosia General Hospital and was found by the Police on a road in Latsia. The evidence found at the scene, according to the Police, shows that he is the victim of a fight.
The Police in a relevant announcement states that "half an hour after midnight today, the Police received information about an injured person on a specific road in Latsia"
Members of the Police went to the place where they located the specific person, whose details could not be verified at this stage.
The injured man was transported by ambulance to the Nicosia General Hospital where he was detained for treatment.
According to the doctors on duty, he has a serious leg injury, head injury as well as superficial injuries all over his body. His condition is considered serious but out of danger. From the examinations carried out at the scene, various evidence was found that refers to a fight.
Further examinations will be carried out this morning while efforts are being made to verify the identity of this person.

A total of 22 kilograms of cannabis and 32 cultivated cannabis plants were detected by the Drug Enforcement Agency over a period of 24 hours in different businesses of its members.
Specifically, a 23-year-old person was arrested yesterday morning by the Limassol Police Unit to facilitate investigations regarding an investigated case of illegal import, possession and possession of drugs for the purpose of supplying to other persons.
In detail and according to the Police, in the context of data collection and evaluation, members of the Ministry of Transport went on August 1 to a courier store in Limassol where, in a check they carried out, they located and confiscated a package, inside which there were four nylon packages containing cannabis with a total gross weight of 4 kg and about 480 grams.
During the investigation of the case, members of the YKAN went yesterday morning to another store of a courier company in Limassol where they stopped the 23-year-old who had just received a package from this particular store.
A check was carried out on the package in question, in which four nylon packages containing cannabis with a total gross weight of 4 kg and about 570 grams were found, resulting in the 23-year-old being arrested for a flagrant offense.
A search of the house and car of the arrested man followed, where various documents were found that allegedly connect him to the two packages.
When questioned, the 23-year-old allegedly admitted that he knew about the existence of drugs in the packages and gave some allegations that are being investigated.
Moreover, in the Larnaca district, a 68-year-old man and a 78-year-old woman were arrested and detained for facilitating investigations into an investigated case of illegal cultivation of cannabis plants.
Specifically, in the context of investigation and evaluation of evidence, members of the YKAN (Larnaca Squad), went yesterday to the house where the 68-year-old and the 78-year-old live where, in a search carried out on the rooftop, a total of 32 cannabis plants from 40 centimeters high to about two meters, one kilo and 30 grams of cannabis, 44 half-smoked handmade cigarettes containing cannabis were found and confiscated, while various documents related to cannabis cultivation were received.
During the interrogation of the above persons, they gave various allegations which are being investigated.
Also, in the district of Nicosia, members of the Nicosia Police Department (Nicosia Squad) found a package in a courier shop, which, after a relevant check, was found to contain about 8 kilos of cannabis. The package in question was received by the members of the Nicosia Police Department and the examinations are continuing.

An unprecedented case of negligent driving with a 54-year-old negative protagonist.
Yesterday at around 9:30 in the morning, members of the Road Accident Prevention Team of the Police Headquarters, stopped a vehicle driven by a 54-year-old woman on the Nicosia-Larnaca highway near Aradippou.
In a preliminary alcohol test to which the 54-year-old was subjected, she was found positive with a reading of 105μg% instead of 22μg%, which is the limit allowed by law.
Subsequently, she was transferred to the Aradippou Police Station, where she was subjected to a final alcohol test with an indication of 118μg% instead of 22μg%.
The 54-year-old was arrested for flagrant offenses and then released. It should be noted that the above guide will be presented on Monday 04/08/2025, before the Larnaca District Court, where the above case will be registered against her.
The Aradippou Police Station continues the examinations.

As part of the collection and evaluation of data related to the production of fake credit cards, members of the Larnaca TAE conducted a search yesterday afternoon in the apartment of a 44-year-old.
During the investigation, computers, credit card printers, scanners, print forms, and other devices allegedly used to make fake credit cards were identified.
All the findings were received for further examination, while the 44-year-old resident of the apartment is wanted for the case, to facilitate the investigations.
The TAE of Larnaca continues the exams.
