A young foreigner in a state of intoxication caused concern last night in Agia Paraskevi Square in Geroskipou. Citizens who contacted the police reported that the young man was in possession of a knife intimidating passers-by.

A patrol of the police directorate that rushed to the area located the young man who was drunk and was unable to give his identity data.

He was not found in possession of anything but was arrested because he caused concern and did not cooperate with the police.

Information about a burglary of a store in Limassol, where the perpetrator may be inside the premises, was received half an hour after midnight today.

Members of the Police rushed to the scene, where they located the owners, as well as a 19-year-old man, who was illegally inside the store.

The 19-year-old, interrogated orally by the members of the Police, admitted that he entered the store with the intention of stealing. In a bag that the 19-year-old had in his possession, various tobacco products were found, such as electric cigarettes, a pack of cigarettes and tobacco packets.

The 19-year-old was arrested for the flagrant offense of illegal possession of property, while as it was later established, the products found in his possession were stolen from the store in question.

The Limassol TAE is investigating the case of burglary and theft.

Members of the Police, specifically members of the Famagusta OPE, around 8.00 p.m. yesterday Friday, stopped for control, a car driven by a 58-year-old man, in an area in the Famagusta district.

In a subsequent investigation, 57 boxes of cigarettes, three more boxes of cigarettes, and a quantity of tobacco, with a total weight of 2 kg and 640 grams, were found in the vehicle, which did not carry the necessary markings and it was found that they were duty-free tobacco products.

The 58-year-old was arrested by the members of the Police and taken to the offices of the Customs Department, where officials of the Customs Department issued him a notice of payment of a fine.

The 58-year-old was released shortly before 10.00 on Friday evening.

Information about a clash between three people residing in an apartment building, in Larnaca, was received, around 11.00 p.m. yesterday, Friday.

Members of the Police went to the scene for examinations, where it was found that a 26-year-old man, while he was on the floor of the apartment building where he lives, was attacked by two other people.

The 26-year-old was transported by ambulance to the Larnaca General Hospital, where it was found that he had a shoulder injury, which was probably caused by a sharp object. He was detained for hospitalization, with his health condition out of danger.

A fourth person, a 66-year-old man, who also lives in the apartment building, intervened to prevent the fight, resulting in a slight injury to the arm. He went to the Larnaca General Hospital, where he received treatment and was discharged.

The Larnaca TAE is investigating the case.
