CIVIL DEFENCE WARNS OF SNAKES - PARTICULARLY WHEN IN DENSE VEGETATION

The Civil Defence appeals to citizens to be particularly careful when they are in nature and especially in dense vegetation areas, as there are three different species of poisonous snakes in Cyprus.

In a post on social media and on the occasion of an incident of rescue of a citizen, she asks that "all citizens, primarily for their own safety, as they are vigilant when exercising in nature, especially in areas of dense vegetation. In Cyprus there are three different species of venomous snakes, one of which is extremely dangerous to humans."

The post publishes a photo of the citizen who was rescued. The citizen had been identified by a rescue team in critical condition resulting from a snake bite and heat stroke. After eight days of hospitalization in the Intensive Care Unit of the Limassol Hospital, the citizen was discharged.
