A demonstration regarding the state’s response to the fire in Limassol is scheduled for Friday, 1st August 2025, in the city’s centre, marking the second such demonstration within two days.
According to police, the protest will start at 7:00 PM at Dioikitirio Square on Independence Street, featuring speeches before participants march to Molos where the demonstration will conclude.
According to organisers, traffic in the area’s road network is not expected to be affected.
The demonstration follows a protest held Thursday evening in Limassol that drew thousands of participants demanding accountability for the government’s perceived inaction during the deadly fires.
The blaze that started on July 23 killed two people, injured at least 26 others, and destroyed approximately 125 square kilometres of land in what authorities described as the largest wildfire in Cyprus in 50 years.
