As at 6pm - The situation in the Tsadas-Koilis-Talas triangle has improved significantly lately regarding the large fire that broke out from 3.00 in the afternoon. The superhuman effort of the fire brigade bore fruit and the danger to human lives and property was eliminated, while at this time the effort is focused on an active front between Tala and Koili in a remote area.
Superhuman efforts are making strong firefighting forces from the air and the ground to bring under control the fire that has been raging since 3.00pm in the triangle between Tsadas-Koili-Tala in the Paphos district. The work of the forces becomes particularly difficult due to the winds that blow, the large area of greenery that covers the area and the morphology of the terrain.
Efforts at this time are mainly focused on avoiding the approach of the fire front in the residential areas of Tsada and Koili, while individual residences, such as the chapel of Prophet Elias that was recently completed, are in danger and a battle is being fought for their protection.

The local authorities have also rushed to the scene with all the means available to the communities to assist the work of the firefighters.
"The fire spread in a flash," says community leader Tsadas
Within five minutes, the fire that broke out in Tsada spread rapidly, according to the community leader Marios Ioannou, who said that the fire, which is being extinguished by ground and air forces, now seems "to have been contained".
In his statements, Mr. Ioannou said that thanks to the immediate intervention of the Fire Service, the worst was averted, since the fire had threateningly approached homes.
As he stated, after persistent efforts of the Fire Brigade and the Civil Defense, it was possible to evacuate a resident who did not wish to leave his residence.
Neither the resident of Tsada nor his residence suffered anything, the community leader clarified.
The fire burned, according to Mr. Ioannou, dry grass and wild vegetation, noting, however, that due to the inaccessibility of the area, the extinguishing task became difficult.
The fire, as he explained, started low towards Tala and spread towards his community, specifically between the area of Tsada and Koili. Firefighters, ground and air forces are assisting in the extinguishing work.
Fire fighting forces are being strengthened from other provinces, says Kettis
The forces that are attempting to extinguish the fire near Tsada are being strengthened, with forces from other provinces.
According to a post by the Spokesperson of the Fire Department, Andreas Kettis, the Fire Department responded to a fire north of the Community of Tsada with vehicles from Paphos fire stations and rural stations.
"The firefighting forces are being strengthened by the districts of Larnaca, Limassol, Nicosia and EMAK," he notes. As he says, the firefighting forces protected houses during the development of the fire.
It is reported that the Forestry Department, the Civil Defence, the Paphos District Administration, the Game Service and various volunteer groups are assisting in extinguishing the fire with a number of vehicles.
Ikaros 2 has also been activated, which concerns flying vehicles. The Chief Fire Chief of the Fire Service is headed to the Zena Coordination Center and the National PYRSOS Plan has been activated, he adds.
