Of particular importance is the effective policing in Paphos this summer season. The already observed spike in tourist traffic is considered a given that it will create a new record of visitors in the summer season of 2025, which is why and in parallel with the efforts of tourism operators for the smooth handling of the tourist season, the Paphos Police Directorate is already working intensively to develop a plan for policing the tourist areas so that the summer can pass without unpleasant and defamatory situations for the city and the province.
The intensification of policing, however, is imposed according to information from "F" for another reason: the spike in delinquency that is already being recorded in other areas, mainly in Limassol and Larnaca, and which imposed a few days ago the on-site visit to the Larnaca Police by the President of the Republic himself. Wanting to prevent mimicry and corresponding actions, the staff of the Paphos Police Directorate are already working in this direction.
In this context, the presence of the Police in the city and the suburban areas of Paphos is already evident with the aim of consolidating the law and the sense of security of the citizens. This practice will continue uninterrupted, officials stressed to "F", given that we have now entered the summer tourist season and the traffic in Paphos is greatly increased.
Patrols of the Paphos Police Directorate are on a daily basis on the streets, making complaints about traffic violations, taking care of the prevention of serious illegalities and criminal actions, but also coming into contact with young people, mainly to keep them away from anti-social activities and dangerous practices on the streets.
The Assistant Police Director of Operations of the Paphos Police Department, Michalis Nicolaou, speaking to "F", pointed out the importance of the Police's cooperation with society to enhance security and law.
The Paphos Police Department, Mr. Nicolaou said, expresses its satisfaction with the response of citizens to its campaigns to date and continues its efforts to prevent and inform the public, in view of the summer season when the number of visitors to Paphos will be particularly increased.
