MERCURY ON THE RISE - YELLOW WEATHER WARNING

We are almost in the heart of summer and the mercury has started to hit record highs. The Meteorological Service has issued a new yellow warning from 12 noon until 5:00 PM. 

Today, the weather will be mainly clear, while at times locally increased low clouds will be observed, mainly in the coastal areas. In the mountainous areas, at noon and after, clouds may develop locally, which may give short isolated rain. The winds will blow mainly southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and on the coast gradually moderate to strong and locally strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally be a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 40 degrees inland, around 31 on the west coast, around 35 on the rest of the coast and around 32 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

Tonight, locally increased low clouds will be observed at intervals, while later and especially during the dawn hours, local fog will form, especially inland and the east. Winds will blow mainly southwest to northwest and locally variable, weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will remain slightly rough in the west and north, while in the south and east it will become calm to slightly rough. The temperature will drop to around 24 degrees inland, around 23 on the coast and around 22 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the weather will be mainly clear, while locally increased low clouds will be observed at times. During the evening and dawn hours, local fog is expected to form, especially in areas in the interior and the east.  

The temperature until Saturday is not expected to change significantly, remaining above the average climatic values ​​of the season.
