A yellow warning that comes into force from 12 noon to 5 p.m., for high temperatures, was issued by the Department of Meteorology. The temperature is expected to rise to 40 degrees inland, 33 to 35 degrees on the coast and 32 degrees in the higher mountains. In fact, the temperature will gradually rise until Thursday, to fluctuate significantly above the average climatic values of the season.
In detail, the weather forecast
Seasonal low pressure and warm gas mass affect the area.
Today, after the dissolution of the local fog and low cloudiness, the weather in most areas of the island will become mainly clear with temporarily increased clouds. However, in the mountains and possibly in the interior area, clouds that will develop during the afternoon hours and beyond, are expected to give isolated rains, without excluding the occurrence of an isolated short storm. The winds will blow mainly from the southwest to the northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually until the afternoon in the southwest, on the south and east coasts, moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally be a little rough, although in the south and east in the morning it will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 40 degrees inland, around 33 degrees on the west coast, around 35 degrees on the rest of the coast and around 32 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, locally increased low clouds will be observed, while later and during the morning hours local sparse fog or fog is expected to form. The winds will blow mainly southwest to northwest and locally variable, weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will remain a little turbulent in the west and north, however in the south and east it will become calm to a little turbulent. The temperature will drop to around 24 degrees in the interior and the coasts and around 20 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Tuesday, the weather will be mainly clear but also particularly warm. In the mountains during the afternoon hours and after, locally increased clouds will be observed, which may give isolated rain.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will be mainly clear but also particularly warm.
The temperature will gradually rise until Thursday, to fluctuate significantly above the average climatic values of the season.
