The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works has announced a tender for the construction and 12-year maintenance of the Special Security Center at the Vassiliko Energy Center, with a deadline for submission of tenders until October 31, 2025.
The estimated cost of the project amounts to €2,700,000, excluding VAT, and is financed by national resources. The start of the works is set for February 2026, with a construction duration of 18 months. The project concerns the study, construction and long-term maintenance of a two-storey building with a total area of at least 700 square meters, which will be erected in the area of Mari.
The Special Security Center will operate on a 24-hour basis in shifts and will be staffed by members of the Police. Its goal is to enhance security at the critical energy hub of Vassilikos, which hosts important infrastructure.
The tender will be conducted with an open procedure and the award criterion is the most economically advantageous offer, based on price. The liability period for defects and maintenance is set at 12 years after the completion of the project.
