YELLOW WEATHER WARNING CONTINUES

A yellow warning for extreme maximum temperature today (29/06) was issued by the Department of Meteorology.

Specifically, the yellow warning concerns the period from 12 noon to 5 p.m. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in areas of the interior is expected to rise to around 40 degrees Celsius.

The forecast in detail

Seasonal low pressure and warm gas mass affect the area.

Today the weather will be mainly clear, however, in the afternoon hours locally increased clouds will be observed and isolated rains are not excluded, mainly in the mountains. The winds will initially blow variable weak, 3 Beaufort, to gradually become southwest to west weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little turbulent. The temperature will rise to 40 degrees inland, around 33 degrees on the southern, eastern and northern coasts and around 30 degrees on the west coast as well as in the higher mountains.

Tonight the weather will be mainly clear, but locally there will be sparse fog and low cloudiness. The winds will blow northwest to northeast and on the north coast southeast weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little turbulent. The temperature will drop to around 23 degrees in the interior and the coasts and around 19 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the weather will be mainly clear, however, in the afternoon hours increased clouds will be observed in the mountains.
