A yellow warning for an extreme maximum temperature on Thursday, June 26, was issued on by the Department of Meteorology.
As reported, the maximum indoor temperature is expected to rise to around 41 degrees Celsius.
The warning applies to the period between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., the Department concludes.
In addition, in today's announcement, the Department of Forestry informs the public that on Thursday, June 26, the risk of explosion and expansion of forest fires will be at the level of "red alert".
It is emphasized that causing a fire, according to the Forestry Law and the Prevention and Extinguishing of Fires in the Countryside Law, constitutes an offense that incurs severe penalties.
The Department appeals to the public to be particularly careful during their excursions, completely avoiding actions and activities that may cause a fire.
In case someone notices smoke or fire, they are called to immediately call 1407 (Forestry Department) or 112 (Fire Service), the announcement concludes.
