At the highest risk level, that of the "Red Alert", the risk of causing and spreading forest fires remains for tomorrow, Saturday, June 28, 2025, according to an announcement by the Department of Forests.
The Department strongly appeals to the public to exercise the utmost caution, avoiding actions that may cause a fire, such as using tools or machinery in the open air, burning dry grass or other materials, as well as lighting a fire for any purpose.
In case someone notices smoke or fire, they are called to immediately notify 1407 (Forestry Department) or 112 (Fire Service).
Increased vigilance of citizens is considered crucial for the prevention of fires, as the period is characterized by high temperatures and dry vegetation.
It is noted that according to the forecast of the Department of Meteorology, tomorrow the weather will be mainly clear. The winds will initially blow mainly southeast to southwest weak, 3 Beaufort, to gradually become southwest to west weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The temperature will rise to around 41 degrees inland, around 35 degrees on the south and east coasts, around 33 degrees on the west and north coasts and around 32 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday the weather will be mainly clear, however, in the afternoon hours locally increased clouds will appear.
The temperature on Sunday is not expected to change significantly to remain above the average climatic values. On Monday, a drop in temperature is expected, to fluctuate close to the average climatic values of the season. On Tuesday, it is not expected to change significantly.
