Money from European funds was secured by the municipality of Akamas. Mayor Marinos Lambrou, in the framework of the European funded project PROLIGHTMED, participated in the meeting that took place in Brindisi, Italy.
Within the framework of the project, the Municipality of Akamas, with a total budget of €456,350, will immediately start the installation of photovoltaic panels in specially designed canopies in the parking lot of the municipal stadium of Peyia, according to the mayor of Akamas, with the ultimate aim of saving energy by reducing the cost of annual public lighting needs.
