The largest Senior Care Centre in Cyprus will operate in Paphos. As noted by the Mayor of Paphos, Phaedon Phaedonos, this is a project of love and retribution by the Municipality of Paphos to the elderly. According to the Mayor of Paphos, the Municipality is preparing to build and operate the largest, most modern and most humane multi-centre for the elderly ever created in Cyprus. "A unique project that we implement with respect, gratitude and a sense of duty towards the people who worked and offered for decades to build the society we enjoy today.
This center will offer three distinct but fully complementary structures: Permanent accommodation in luxurious and fully equipped rooms (100), for people who need daily care and safety in an environment that will honour and embrace them. Day care, for the elderly who stay at home but want daily social contact, exercise, creative activity, entertainment, health care, physiotherapy, technological familiarization, and even excursions and seminars. Home services, with mobile units, specialized staff and nurses who will visit the elderly in their homes for the provision of medical and tutoring services (administration of medicines, cleaning, personal hygiene, support for fully dependent people)." As Mr. Phaedon notes, the elderly are not an outsider. It is honour, it is history, it is roots.
