Immediately, the Department of Forests of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, in cooperation with the Community Council of Pelendri, proceeded to clean up the area. According to the Department of Forests, "this illegal act is not only an environmental pollution of the area but also an act that makes it difficult to protect the fire of the nearby state forest and the surrounding area".

However, illegal waste deposits in state forests are a frequent occurrence, as many unscrupulous citizens pollute the natural environment with rubble, garbage and other materials.

The competent authorities call on the public to immediately report any similar incidents to the forest stations or to the telephone number 1407. It is recalled that dumping waste in state forests is a criminal offense, with prison sentences of up to one year or a fine of up to €5,000, or both of these penalties together.
