The Golden Gallery by Kapatays in Limassol, has the honour to host the solo exhibition of the internationally acclaimed Greek artist Kostis Georgiou, entitled "H2O". The inauguration will be performed by the President of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Annita Demetriou, on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 7:30 p.m.
With a presence in museums and galleries around the world and participation in the Venice Biennale, the multi-award-winning Kostis Georgiou returns to Cyprus and specifically to the Golden Gallery by Kapatays in Limassol, to present for the first time a brand new theme. The title of Kostis Georgiou's new artistic proposal "H2O" (Hydrogen – 2 – Oxygen), being the chemical formula of water, predisposes the visitor to the content of the exhibition. The artist, with his characteristic writing, dynamic touches and vivid colours, on the one hand praises the life-giving element of water and on the other hand explores the aquatic world of the seabed and the fascinating peaceful, underwater life that evolves in it, silently and secretly, far from any human factor.

Georgiou's new approach to the water element also includes works with seascapes, ships, carefree swimmers and sunsets on the sea horizons, elements that function as symbols of optimism and freedom, Mediterranean and familiar symbols in Georgiou's art. With blue as the dominant colour, the colour of the Greek summer, the colour that carries the memories of our childhood and our first dives, Georgiou creates dreamy seascapes and underwater worlds, which invite us to immerse ourselves in them and discover them.
