The problems and challenges of Cypriot tourism were referred to last night at the assembly of ETAP, by its president, Kyriakos Drousiotis. He also said that for the first four months of 2025, an increase in arrivals of 15.6% was recorded compared to the corresponding period last year. The recovery of 2024, he said, is largely due to a combination of factors, actions and circumstances, such as the recovery and strengthening of the markets of the UK, Poland, France, Italy, the launch of a large number of flights by Ryanair, EasyJet, jet2, Wizz Air, the granting of attractive fares by airlines and the continued arrival of individual visitors.
Also, he continued, the intensive effort to digitally promote the "Paphos destination", the granting of more travel packages by specific tour operators and the continued increase of visitors with preferences in short-term rental accommodations contributed. Finally, he added that Paphos and Cyprus are constantly receiving the effects of globalization and market maturation.
