A new case of theft of a car, which had been left parked with the keys in the starter, is being investigated by the Police in Nicosia, while in Larnaca, the Police are investigating a case of theft of a large amount of money, which had been left in a parked car.

In Nicosia, according to a complaint submitted to the TAE, the owner of a car, her vehicle, worth  €15,000, was stolen around 10.40 p.m. yesterday Sunday, while it was parked outside a kiosk, in the Engomi area. The car was left parked at the spot, with the keys in the engine.

In Larnaca, according to a complaint submitted to the Oroklini Police Station, a car owner of a sum of money of €4,100 was stolen from his car, while it was parked in a car park, a restaurant in the Oroklini area, between 9.00 and 12.00 in the evening yesterday Sunday.

The money was in a shoulder bag, which had been left under the driver's seat of the vehicle and contained a number of bank cheques. A bag was also stolen from the car, which had been left in the back seats of the vehicle. The perpetrators of the theft allegedly broke the car, breaking the windows of the driver's door and one passenger door.

The Police, for the purpose of preventing similar incidents of theft, addresses recommendations to the public, owners and responsible drivers of vehicles,

Just as they never leave money or other valuables inside their vehicle, even when it is locked.

The Police arrested a 17-year-old last night, after locating a stolen moped.

Specifically, members of the Limassol OPE conducted around 9.00 p.m. last Sunday [08/06], a search of a residence in Limassol, where they found a moped, which had been stolen.

With the discovery of the moped last night, the members of the OPE proceeded to the arrest of a 17-year-old, in whose presence the investigation was carried out, for the flagrant offense of illegal possession of property.

The theft of the moped was reported to the Police on June 04.

According to the complaint, the moped was stolen in the evening between 03 and 04 June, while it was parked, in the car park, at its owner's residence, in Limassol.

The case is being investigated by the Limassol City Central Station.

Two minors were handcuffed by the Police after a food distributor complained that he had been punched and attacked with a knife on a street in Larnaca.

In a statement, it is stated that around 17:00 today, the Larnaca Police Department proceeded to the arrest of two underage foreign persons aged 16 and 17, in the context of an investigation into a case of injury, assault and causing actual bodily harm, stabbing and joint assault committed on the same day in Larnaca.

Specifically, it was reported by a 32-year-old foreign food delivery man that while he was parked with his moped on Famagusta Avenue, the two foreigners in question who were riding a bicycle, deliberately hit the food container attached to his moped and began to provoke him to start a fight.

They then attacked him by beating him in various parts of his body with punches and kicks. One of them pulled out a small knife and injured him on the fingers of his left hand.

Members of the Larnaca ADE rushed to the place where they located the suspects and led them to the Larnaca TAE.

The 32-year-old received medical treatment at the Larnaca Hospital and his condition is not serious and he was fired.

The suspects are expected to appear tomorrow before the Larnaca District Court for the issuance of a detention order.

The TAE of Larnaca continues the exams.

Around 2.45 a.m. today Monday [09/06], in the area of Ayia Napa, a four-wheeled motorcycle was found on fire. The motorcycle was overturned, in an open field, at a distance of about 150 meters from an adjacent road.

According to the Police, the motorcycle was completely destroyed by the fire, which was extinguished by members of the Fire Service.

Members of the Police conducted examinations at the scene and the wider area.

In the morning, re-examinations will be carried out at the scene, which is under guard, in order to ascertain the causes of the fire, as well as the ownership of the motorcycle.
