The Police made a second arrest yesterday, regarding the quantity of products containing prohibited substances, which was seized on June 5, in the district of Famagusta (Press Release 1, dated 06/06/2025 is relevant). He is a 36-year-old man, against whom relevant testimony emerged during the investigation of the case.
The products were found in two postal packages, which arrived at the offices of a courier company, in the district of Famagusta, from a foreign country. Specifically, within the packages, 300 sachets with plant matter and 20 smoking vaporizers, which appear to contain the substance THC, 36 packages of biscuits, 36 packages of chewing gum, 20 packages of tea and 10 tubes of creams, which appear to contain the substance CBD, were found and confiscated.
A 47-year-old man had also been arrested for the case to facilitate the investigations. The 47-year-old, after being interrogated, was released, pending the scientific examinations on the confiscated goods.
The YKAN (Famagusta District Division) and the Paralimni Police Station continue the examinations.

The authorities proceeded to the arrest of a 47-year-old woman, who arrived in Cyprus from Madrid, at Larnaca airport, after they found cannabis with a total gross weight of 17 kg and 600 grams in her luggage.
According to information from the Customs Department, its officers, after evaluating information and in cooperation with officers of the Anti-Narcotics Service at Larnaca Airport, stopped today for control a 47-year-old passenger with Italian citizenship, who arrived in Cyprus from Madrid via Belgrade.
During the radiodiagnostic examination of the passenger's luggage, an indication emerged that its contents were possibly drugs. In the physical test that followed, cannabis with a total gross weight of 17 kg and 600 grams was found.
The woman was arrested for flagrant offenses and the drugs were confiscated by the officers of the Customs Department. Later, both the passenger and the drugs were handed over to the Larnaca Airport Police Station for further investigation of the case.

A 34-year-old man filed a complaint with the Police today, as he fell victim to online fraud, resulting in the loss of a sum of money of 119,360 euros.
Specifically, the 34-year-old reported that he came into contact through an online application, with an unknown person, who claimed to reside abroad and maintains an online store that is active in the purchase and sale of products.
The complainant followed the relevant instructions of the stranger and created accounts on a specific website as well as on cryptocurrency exchange platforms, in order to be able to transact with the said website.
Between the dates 30/04/2025 – 05/06/2025, the 34-year-old made a total of 53 cryptocurrency transactions from his accounts, sending the money to various digital wallets of the website in question, believing that he would secure income from trading activities.
The Nicosia TAE is investigating the case with the Police reminding citizens of the need for increased attention to online investment proposals and urging them to verify the reliability of any platform before making any transaction.

A robbery took place in the early hours of Sunday, around 2:00, in a bakery in the Havouza area of Limassol.
According to information from the Police, two young men, who had their faces covered with hoods, entered the bakery, while one of them was holding a knife. The perpetrators moved quickly, grabbed the cash register, which contained about €500, and fled in an unknown direction.
During the robbery, an employee and a customer were in the bakery, who fortunately were not injured.
The Limassol Police Department continues to conduct investigations and is looking for evidence, such as closed circuits of surveillance of the area, which may lead to the identification and arrest of the perpetrators.

A 93-year-old man is hospitalized in serious condition at the Famagusta hospital after a car accident that occurred in the village of Xylopagou.
According to the Police, around 7.15 a.m. today, "a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old woman was driving her car on 25th Martiou Street, in Xylofagou, under circumstances that are being investigated, collided with a car driven by a 93-year-old".
The 93-year-old was transported by ambulance to the Famagusta General Hospital, where it was found that he suffered a craniocerebral injury and a fractured collarbone. His health condition is judged by the attending physicians as serious.
The 23-year-old driver was arrested for a flagrant offense, after a small amount of crystal substance amphetamine was found inside her vehicle, while she underwent a preliminary drug test with a positive result.
The Xylofagou Police Station continues the examinations.
