Pafos Press
Two members of the Paphos Police Department carried out an incident-related and particularly dangerous operation when they were called to arrest a young man against whom various offenses were pending under investigation.
As PafosPress reveals , when the police approached, the suspect reacted violently and attempted to escape , which led to a conflict and tension , resulting in the arrest evolving into a scene with elements of a chase and struggle .
A photo obtained by PafosPress captures the police officers' extreme efforts , with one of them literally hanging onto the suspect in order to immobilize him until reinforcements arrive.
The act of the two police officers highlights the high sense of duty and the selflessness with which they carry out their mission, even putting their personal safety at risk for the protection of the wider community.
The case is being investigated by the Paphos Police, while the arrested person is being held in custody on charges of assault and causing bodily harm, attempting to escape lawful arrest, assaulting a police officer, insulting others, etc.

Filenews
Things and miracles, which they claim were happening in the premises where they worked, were reported to the Police by three women and a young man. The complaints are directed against their employer, who was placed in six-day detention today.
According to the data revealed today by Filenews, all four complained that their employer sexually harassed them during their work, at the premises he maintains in a village in the Limassol district. The offences were allegedly committed from 2020 to January 2025, in the workplace of the complainants, on different occasions.
Following the complaints made to the Police, the authorities proceeded to the arrest of this person, who was brought today (4/6) before the Limassol District Court for the issuance of a detention order. The suspect is being investigated for offences concerning, harassment and sexual abuse, harassment in the workplace, sexual harassment, indecent assault against a woman and a man and indecent acts against the 4 complainants.
The complainants – one of whom was a minor at the time of the events – are appalling. The same applies to the case of the young man, who also complains that he was sexually harassed by the suspect.
The latter, in a closed-door procedure before the Limassol Court, was detained for a period of six days. However, it is not excluded, as reported on our website, that new complaints will arise from other persons who worked in the two premises maintained by the suspect.

Various prison sentences, the longest of which was three years, were imposed yesterday (4/6) by the Limassol District Court on two young Turkish Cypriots, who were found guilty of a series of robberies and thefts against women. The attacks were carried out while the victims were walking unsuspectingly on the street when the defendants – who were riding a motorcycle and wearing helmets – snatched their bags, which contained sums of money, personal belongings and documents.
The defendants were found guilty, after pleading, to the charges of robbery, causing grievous bodily harm, attempted robbery, assault with actual bodily harm, theft from a person and theft.
In its decision, the Court notes, among other things, that the actions of the defendants are dangerous and completely disrespectful to the rights of the victims, who were attacked while they were moving unsuspectingly on the street. The defendants, driving motorcycles – which in most cases they had previously stolen – approached the victims and exercised physical violence on them, pulling their bags. In several cases, victims fell to the ground or crawled when they tried to resist. The defendants reaped financial gain, with no respect for the personality or physical integrity of the victims.
In relation to the offence of robbery, the Court underlined that it cannot go unnoticed that some of the robberies were committed on the same day. Furthermore, the Court pointed out that the overall action of the defendants highlights the ease with which they committed crimes against property, not hesitating to use violence in order to obtain illegal benefit. In short, there is a systematic disregard for the law, with the defendants appearing as individuals ready to steal at any time, completely disregarding the consequences of their actions. It is also stressed that such behaviour is unacceptable and highly condemnable and the Court has a duty to send a clear message of deterrence to potential offenders.
According to the facts of the case, between April 22 and 25, 2024, the defendants committed more than six robberies against women. The attacks took place while the victims were walking down the street, and the defendants approached them on stolen motorcycles, wearing helmets. A similar incident occurred on April 23, when they stole a woman's bag containing the amount of €500 and a mobile phone worth €300. On April 22, they also stole another woman's bag, while the next day they proceeded to another theft with loot of €430. During the same period, the defendants also stole two motorcycles.
The Court also took into account other criminal cases of a similar nature, which were faced by the defendants and which were pending before other courts. The case was handled, on behalf of the Attorney General, by Prosecutor Nadia Koliarou, while the defendants were represented by lawyers Sylvia and Ioanna Adamou.
