The authenticity of the videos and photos that have been circulating in the last few hours on the internet and depict two members of the Police in erotic encounters inside a patrol car, which is parked during the day in an open area in the Larnaca district, was certified by the Police.
In the first, written statement issued by the authorities on the unprecedented case it is stated that "at first glance, the video appears to correspond to reality and so instructions were given for a criminal and disciplinary investigation of the resulting offenses." At the same time, the authorities seem to have also managed to identify the "protagonists" of the electronic files resulting in "two members of the Police being suspended."
The leadership of the Force emphasizes that "such actions and behaviours are unacceptable since they also offend the work of our thousands of members who serve in the field."
Update - Unprecedented is the slander, mainly on social media, of the two police officers who are seen in videos of an erotic encounter outside a patrol car.
Although no persons are seen, however, the area, status and other data refer to specific persons, resulting in a serial personal data breach.
Characteristic of the effects that exist, apart from the two police officers involved, is the statement to Filenews of the Police spokesperson Kyriaki Lambrianidou, that behind these two people there are children and families and their slander must stop.
Information from our website states that the Police are looking for the person who has taken the video since, on the one hand, it is needed for the purposes of the investigation and on the other hand, it seems that issues of personal data violation arise for him as well. He could, as we have been told, hand over the video to the Police and not post it on the media accompanying it with inappropriate vocabulary, resulting in all this uproar erupting and slandering two persons, who will suffer the consequences of their actions anyway.
The worst, according to a police officer, is the republication of the video by thousands of internet users, resulting in an unprecedented man-eating and ridicule. The video is accompanied by thousands of comments that do not honor anyone and each one comments either mockingly or even vulgarly, the unacceptable things that the video shows.
The investigations have been undertaken by the Directorate of Professional Standards and Inspection (DEPE) and three criminal offenses and two disciplinary offenses are being investigated against the two. As Mrs. Lambrianidou told us, the offenses of neglect of official duty, obscene act and the offense of the perpetrator are being investigated. Disciplinary proceedings examine inappropriate behaviour and breach or neglect of duty.
In the meantime, it is a question mark since the patrol car has a positioning system, the well-known GPS, because the duty officer or any other person in charge had not realized that it was parked in an area that should not normally have been located nor had it been declared.
It is noted that one of the two persons seen in the video was off duty, while the other had stated a specific action for which he presented himself.

The case, which due to its nature did not see the light of day, was set today before the Limassol Permanent Assize Court, with the son being taken to the dock and both his parents being in the courtroom.
As Filenews is able to know, the shocking case was committed around mid-February in Limassol, with the 23-year-old defendant attempting to bring about the death of his mother by attempting to drown her in the pool of their house.
On the same day, the defendant used a metal bench and attempted to hit her. Subsequently, he caused damage to the household equipment of their house. All this was not enough, he allegedly took their dog by the neck with his hands, in order to drown him.

A new case of sexual abuse of a minor, which causes shock, is brought to light by Filenews. It concerns an underage footballer and the main suspect is a football team agent, who allegedly asked both the complainant and his teammates for nude photos offering money and sexual aids in exchange.
The case has been taken over by a team of the Police Headquarters. The suspect was brought before the Court today, where in a closed procedure, a detention order was issued for 8 days.
The suspect is being investigated for offences relating to the acquisition or possession of child sexual abuse material, access to child sexual abuse material, sexual abuse of a minor or depiction of sexual acts, seduction of minors for sexual purposes, as well as conspiracy to obstruct justice and influence witnesses. The offences appear to have been committed from June 2023 until today.
The 16-year-old's complaint
In mid-June 2025, 16-year-old footballer filed a complaint against the suspect, stating that he plays for a specific small league team, in which the latter is a factor and sometimes performs coaching duties. As the minor claimed, when the head coach was absent, he was replaced by the suspect. According to his testimony, at the end of 2024, the 16-year-old began communicating through social networks with the suspect. Initially, they exchanged messages related to training, but soon the conversation took a different turn. The suspect allegedly sent him a photo, accompanied by a question about whether he was masturbating. The minor felt uncomfortable and informed other teammates, one of whom admitted that he had received similar messages, even asking if he had had sexual intercourse.
Second minor and agreement in exchange for money
During January 2025, the 16-year-old was added by an unknown user to an in-app group chat. He quickly realized that the account belonged to the suspect. The user continued to communicate with the minor by sending him videos and photos. A second minor, according to the 16-year-old's allegations, said he received an offer from the suspect to send him nude photos of him, in exchange for €50 and a sexual aid. This particular minor allegedly accepted.
On a specific day, the suspect allegedly handed over the amount of €50 to the second minor after training. The incident, as the 16-year-old claims, was also seen by him and was repeated in the following weeks.
Sending nude photos and making an unethical suggestion
The 16-year-old confided the incident to other classmates and teammates. At some point, he claims, the suspect asked for a nude photo, offering him a reward. Although the minor initially refused, he was eventually convinced.
The suspect then allegedly sent nude photos of himself and then asked the child for videos of sexual acts. Recently, the suspect allegedly suggested that they meet in order to take a specific action, in exchange for a monetary fee.
The case came to light when it came to the attention of other parents, who informed the parents of the 16-year-old and they immediately proceeded to an official complaint to the authorities. The Police are expected to carry out forensic and other examinations on the suspect's mobile phones and computers, while testimonies will also be taken from other underage footballers and persons close to the suspect.

A Central Prisons inmate has complicated a major document theft investigation by making false accusations against two prison officers, in what police sources suspect was an attempt to mislead the inquiry and protect the real perpetrators.
The inmate recently reported to police that two prison officers were behind the theft of documents from Central Prison, also implicating himself in the alleged crime. However, police investigations, including searches of the named officers’ homes, found no evidence linking them to the case.
Police sources suggest the complaint may have been made for other purposes and to prevent identification of the real culprits behind the theft and possession of a massive volume of state documents, including classified and confidential materials.
The accusation came at a time when police investigations had already identified potential suspects behind the movement of documents and other electronic evidence and personal items. All materials were discovered at a chief prison guard’s home last April during a search related to another case.
Police officers who searched the prison staff member’s home were reportedly stunned by what they found in two rooms whilst looking for evidence related to another inmate’s allegations about the operation of a kiosk within the correctional facility. Instead, they discovered 300,000 pages of documents.
The inmate gave testimony naming two prison officers as being behind the document movement, claiming this occurred whilst Central Prison former director Anna Aristotelous and senior official Athina Dimitriou were absent due to their case involving allegations against Michalis Katsounotos.
Police headquarters investigators examined the complaint thoroughly, issuing search warrants for the homes of the two named officers, but found nothing. Both officers were also called to give statements regarding the inmate’s accusations and whether they had access to management offices.
After the matter was clarified, investigations continued as originally begun, with the list of suspected persons being expanded.
As reported yesterday, police called former Central Prisons director Anna Aristotelous for questioning. She is seconded as deputy director of the Defence Ministry responsible for humanitarian issues concerning trapped and missing persons.
According to a statement yesterday by police spokesperson Koulla Lamprianidou, both Aristotelous and Athina Dimitriou were called to police as suspects in connection with the case under investigation.
When someone is called for investigative questioning, it is because they are considered a suspect, she explained. Both Aristotelous and Dimitriou, who was questioned last week and accompanied by their lawyers, exercised their right to remain silent and did not answer any investigators’ questions.
Police are investigating offences including conspiracy to commit felonies, conspiracy to commit misdemeanours, abuse of power, breach of official secrets, theft by public officials, and illegal possession of property.
The chief prison guard at whose home the documents were found is also under suspicion, whilst police arrested five people a month ago – four prison guards and one trainee police constable – for the same case. All five remain on three-month suspension.
The outcome of the chief prison guard’s application to the Supreme Court seeking annulment of the document retention order due to alleged procedural errors in its issuance is also awaited with interest.
The case is in its final stages of investigation, and once document-related issues are resolved, the file will be forwarded to the Law Office for review. Final statements are being taken to fill gaps or address issues arising from examination of the extensive evidence, sources said.
