A large quantity of tobacco products as well as a large amount of cash were found by members of the Limassol OPE, following a search they conducted on 11/6/2025 at the home of a person of Syrian nationality in Limassol.

Specifically, 337 boxes of 200 cigarettes each, 62 boxes of heated cigarettes, 64 kilos of smoke for a rolled cigarette and 44 kilos of tobacco for hookah were found, which did not bear the marking for the harmfulness of smoking in Greek and Turkish, nor the security feature and the unique traceability code, indications that they were duty-free. The amount of money found amounts to €22,105.

The suspect was arrested for flagrant offenses and was taken to the offices of the Limassol OPE for further interrogation. The above tobacco products and the amount of money, after being counted, were confiscated by the officers of the Customs Department. The arrested man was brought today before the Limassol District Court, which issued a decree for his 4-day detention.

A 23-year-old man was located and arrested by members of the Police, who was wanted in connection with an investigated case of causing grievous bodily harm, injury, stabbing, and conspiracy to commit a felony, offenses that, according to the data under investigation, were committed on June 04, 2025, in Limassol. The case is being investigated by the Limassol TAE.

The 23-year-old suspect was arrested under a court warrant on the afternoon of Thursday, June 12, 2025 and was detained for police examination purposes. For the same case, the Police are still looking for another suspicious person. He is a 31-year-old man, Manpreet Singh.

Photos and details of the 23-year-old man who was located and arrested on Thursday afternoon, as well as the 31-year-old who is wanted, were released by the Police on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in order to collect information that could lead to their location.

The Police arrested a 44-year-old man yesterday, as part of an investigation into a case involving theft by an employee.

According to a complaint made to the Police by the manager of a supermarket located in the Larnaca district, between the years 2020-2021, various products with a total value of €181,000 were stolen from the supermarket in question.

During the investigation of the case, testimony emerged against a 44-year-old former employee, who was arrested yesterday with a court arrest warrant, upon his arrival in Cyprus.  The 44-year-old is expected to appear before the Court today for the issuance of a detention order.
