The Mayor of Paphos, Mr. Faidona Faidonos met yesterday with the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom in the Republic of Cyprus.
During the meeting, the Mayor Mr. Phaidonas Phaidonos and Mr. Tatham discussed issues related to the city's development and strategies for its future. The Mr. Tatham has shown interest in the Mayor’s future plans for the development of Paphos, his vision for the coming years, and how these plans will be implemented.
The discussion also focused on potential opportunities for cooperation given Cyprus' geographical and diplomatic relations with other countries and the role that Paphos plays in the wider area. Mr. Tatham referred to Paphos' close relations with the UK, owing to the large number of British nationals living in or visiting the city.
Finally, both sides expressed their readiness for further cooperation in various sectors, with particular emphasis on the education sector.
