Information from the Liberal Party states that the licensing process of Chevron by state services and authorities has been successfully completed for the start of exploration within Block 12 of the Cypriot EEZ, for the purpose of constructing a pipeline that will connect the Aphrodite field with the receiving infrastructure in Egypt.

According to Chevron's design and the navtex that will be issued very soon, the surveys will be carried out by the vessel KOBI RUEGG, which specializes in seabed surveys and technical data collection for offshore projects and which is already in the area (flagged by Bahamas).

The information available states that the investigations for the laying of the natural gas pipeline in Egypt will begin on June 4 and are expected to last until the end of October 2025.

We remind you that the agreement between the Aphrodite consortium and the Republic of Cyprus for the development of the Aphrodite field was updated and activated last February. At the same time, in February, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Cairo between the Republic of Cyprus, Egypt and the consortium Chevron Cyprus Limited, NewMed EnergyLP, BG Cyprus Limited for the development of the "Aphrodite" natural gas field. With the Memorandum, the framework is formed for the effective commercialization of Aphrodite's natural gas in Egypt.
