On the occasion of the increased cases of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) recorded this year in Cyprus, the Association of Liver Patients and Friends of Cyprus "Prometheus" informs patients with chronic liver disease (e.g. cirrhosis), or severe obesity or with moderate to severe immunodeficiency that they can obtain the RSV vaccine free of charge through the GHS and after consultation with their attending physician.
For patients with liver disease, the RSV vaccine is a critical prevention tool, reducing the risk of serious complications, hospitalization and worsening of liver disease. The protection of vulnerable groups is a priority for "Prometheus" and the RSV vaccine can help prevent serious respiratory complications.
