The Fraud with Sending Misleading Messages for Payment of External Affairs Continues.
The Police continue to receive reports of fake messages sent both via social media sites and mobile phones, that urge the recipient to follow a certain online link, in order to pay for alleged traffic offences.
Their purpose is to deceive and extort money or personal data.
DO NOT open any suspicious links
DO NOT give your personal or bank information
The procedure for locating and paying the excess fines is as follows:
The interested person can visit the website of the promoter company www.CyCameraSystem.com.cy and register:
(a) his vehicle registration number and
(b) the ID card number or alien registry number (ARC) or the company / business number, depending on the case.
He will then be able to determine a) how much any extrajudicial fine is pending against him, b) the number of extra fines pending and c) the increasing number of each extrajudicial fine.
If the interested person wishes to make their immediate payment, they can visit the Police website www.police.gov.cy and follow the relevant procedure.
