In the 10-day forecasts, you will notice that after a particularly hot Saturday, Sunday and Monday with temperatures up to 40°C, a gradual drop in temperature, stronger winds and the possibility of rain follow.
More specifically, sunshine is expected on Saturday and Monday with some high cloud and light dust in the atmosphere, with the mercury mainly on Sunday/Monday reaching up to 40°C inland. From Tuesday to Thursday/Friday, a stronger and cooler westerly wind is expected to affect our region, resulting in a gradual drop in temperature, with the mercury falling to below normal levels, with maximums around 28-29°C on Thursday/Friday, while the dust will move further east on Tuesday. At the same time, an unstable air mass will affect our region, as a result of which isolated/local rains/storms are expected in the midday/afternoon hours, mainly in the mountainous/semi-mountainous areas and inland from mid-week. A slight gradual increase in temperature is seen in the first 2 days of June, before returning to normal levels for the season. Tomorrow, Saturday, the weather will initially be mainly clear with a few high clouds, to become progressively sunny during the second half of the day, with the probability of rain being 0% in all areas. There will be light dust suspended in the atmosphere, which will be mainly limited a few kilometers above the surface. The temperature will not change significantly, remaining around 4-8 degrees Celsius above normal levels for the season, reaching around 38 degrees Celsius in Nicosia, around 30 to 33 degrees Celsius on the coast (depending on the area) and around 25 degrees Celsius in Troodos (1900 meters). On Sunday, the weather will initially be sunny while in the afternoon the weather will become partly cloudy with mainly high clouds, with the chance of rain again at 0% in all areas. There will be light dust in the atmosphere, which will be mainly limited to a few kilometers above the surface. The temperature will increase slightly, to hover around 5-9 degrees Celsius above normal levels for the season, reaching around 40 degrees Celsius in Nicosia, around 31 to 34 degrees Celsius on the coast (depending on the area) and around 26 degrees Celsius in Troodos (1900 meters). On Monday, the weather will be partly cloudy with high clouds at times, with the chance of rain remaining at 0% in all areas. There will be light dust in the atmosphere, which will be mainly limited to a few kilometers above the surface. The temperature will not change significantly, remaining around 5-9 degrees Celsius above normal levels for the season, reaching around 40 degrees Celsius in Nicosia, around 31 to 35 degrees Celsius on the coast (depending on the area) and around 25 degrees Celsius in Troodos (1900 meters). On Tuesday, the weather will initially be mainly clear with a few local low clouds mainly in the west. At noon and in the afternoon, a few local clouds will develop mainly in the eastern parts of the Troodos mountain range and further east, with the probability of rain again at 0% in all areas. Dust will initially be suspended in the atmosphere, with its progressive decline during the second half of the day. The temperature will drop significantly, to hover around the normal levels for the season, reaching around 32 degrees Celsius in Nicosia, around 29 to 32 degrees Celsius on the south and east coasts (depending on the region), around 26 to 28 degrees Celsius on the west and north coasts (depending on the region) and around 18 degrees Celsius in Troodos (1900 meters). On Wednesday, the weather will initially be mainly clear in most areas, however, locally increased low clouds will be observed in the west. Locally increased clouds will develop mainly in the eastern parts of the Troodos mountain range and further east in the afternoon and evening, with the chance of rain ranging from 0-20% (depending on the region). The temperature will drop further, to fluctuate slightly below normal levels for the season, reaching around 30 degrees Celsius in Nicosia, around 25 to 28 degrees Celsius on the coast (depending on the area) and around 16 degrees Celsius in Troodos (1900 meters). In the last 3 days of the month, unstable weather conditions will affect our region, resulting in the possibility of isolated/local rains mainly during the midday/afternoon hours and mainly in the mountainous/semi-mountainous areas and inland.In the first 2 days of June, there are still some chances of rain in the afternoons, mainly in the mountainous/semi-mountainous areas and inland, while the temperature seems to be gradually increasing slightly, with a tendency to return to normal levels for the season.
Regarding the winds, they will blow until Sunday, initially variable in intensity 1-3 Beaufort, to gradually turn to sea winds of intensity 3-4 Beaufort. On Monday, the winds will initially blow easterly to southeasterly in intensity 2-4 Beaufort, to gradually turn in the afternoon to northwesterly to southwesterly in intensity 3-4 Beaufort, with gusts that will locally reach 5 Beaufort inland. On Tuesday and Wednesday, winds will initially blow at variable intensity of 1-3 Beaufort, gradually turning to northwesterly to southwesterly at intensity 3-4 Beaufort, with gusts reaching locally 5 Beaufort and on the south/southeast coasts up to 6 Beaufort. Winds will remain strong on Thursday/Friday, with a tendency for partial weakening thereafter.
