Filenews
The Fire Service in Limassol was mobilized, after a fire broke out in a pile of tires inside a school unit. Filenews was at the scene at a time when thick black smoke had covered the area north of Ekali.
A fire truck rushed to the scene and the firefighters managed to extinguish the fire in the burnt tires. It should be noted that the fire broke out inside the stadium of the Agia Fyla High School in two places, but also outside the fenced area.
As we were told, a little earlier, young men with their faces covered with hoods approached the east side of the school, threw tyres and set them on fire. At the same time, they lit smoke bombs and threw firecrackers.
It is worth mentioning the fact that a professor rushed to extinguish another fire on the lower side of the stadium.
However, this is not the first time that unscrupulous minors have caused incidents in this particular Gymnasium, setting fire to tyres and disrupting the smooth operation of the school.
