CHERRY FESTIVAL
Kampos & Tsakistra, Nicosia district
7 & 8 June - 10am-late
On June 7 and 8, this year's Kampos & Tsakistra Cherry Festival will take place. Two days full of music, dance, aromas and cherry flavours, in one of the most beautiful mountain destinations in Cyprus.
The start of the festival will take place on Saturday at 10:00. From 11:00 the first activities begin, with the train conducting a tour of the community, while at the same time traditional experiential workshops will be held: wool knitting, making halloumi and cherry delicacies. Children will have fun in Sakura Park with painting, cartoons and pastography under the guidance of cartoonist Sotos Voskaridis. At noon, the Japanese Embassy offers traditional tea and mitarashi dango sweets. In the evening, music and jeeps liven up the cafes and restaurants of the area.
On Sunday, the festival continues with the purchase of Cypriot products, experiential workshops and events for the whole family. The official ritual begins at 12:00, followed by music and dance events, such as folk songs, traditional dances and performances by cultural associations. A special note is given by the participation of children in treasure hunts and activities in Sakura Park.
The Cherry Festival is a unique opportunity to experience local hospitality, enjoy authentic flavours and live unforgettable experiences in nature.
